Hey guys! I'm new to this so don't judge me too harshly. But feel free to judge.

I have a homepage dedicated to patting my own back and educating the masses about proper story and narrative design in games. And I'm a pretty big dick about it. I fancy myself (out loud, mind you) a bit of prophet, and I need a bitchin' banner to reflect that.

The scene I'm mulling over is of me (a dude with a beard) on a mountain or hill or curb (whichever), holding a tome (it'd be great if we could fit words on it, but we'll see) up to the sky, a holy light shining down on me, as a large crowd of envious, stupid game developers look on. I'm thinking I'm behind the crowd facing forward, and the crowd is in the foreground with their backs to the viewer. I quite liked the style of the Scott Pilgrim vs. The World videogame, so something in that vein, preferably. Show some damn style.

The banner size is 940x198, but that doesn't have to be the resolution of the scene. Also, there's no deadline. I've had a stock photo as the banner for like a frikkin' year now.

This is going to be the only image on my website, more or less, and it will appear on every single page. Therefore, I'm willing to pay pretty well for something I'm happy with, but it seems the artist is usually in control of the rates here, so I'm obviously open to negotiations.

Again, I'm new at this, so send me some examples or whatever it is you guys do here. Thanks for your patience, and I hope to here from EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU.

Take care.

-Craig

Forgot to mention: I'll also credit your work in some manner - so that people who are impressed by the banner can get into contact with you.

Thanks again.
