One more sprite I've been working on. One of the chrome-skinned bikers in Wings of Aetos. I'm not sure I've got it quite right yet. On the left is my first try, on the right is my latest:

Reflective skin, muscular-but-correctly-proportioned body, denim jeans, biker boots. That's what I was going for.

I shrank the head because it just looked odd at that size, and I've tried to get the musculature down a little better, but any thoughts you care to share would be welcome.

What does not seem right? Looks very detailed and readable to me. The newer version is great cept the hidden arm where one of those tiny bumps is probably enough to read as a hand.
The color for jeans is way off but you have been using odd colors on this project so in context they probably do look like jeans.
Why jeans when you're made of chrome is another story. I would wear latex :p

Here's one minus the obscured arm. Better?

The color of the jeans was actually based on the color of the pants in one of the Contra games.

The bump you took out was fine I meant those two balls below it you left on there. Unless that's a weapon :/

Ah, I see. No, that's meant to be a hand.

The entire sprite is bobbing up and down a pixel every two frames. It's similar to the way the entire body rises and falls in Contra:

If the head rose and fell at a rate different from the body, the sprite would look like it had a rubber neck.

Oh yeah, it would rubber neck. nvm.

Looks great! You're probably already aware of this since the running animation is still in progress, but I feel as if the transition for the arms moving up is considerably faster than when it moves to the back.
