Hello, I heard that this is a decent place to find great artists(hello you).

I would like to start by telling you a few of the things you can expect from myself. I'm Stan, 21 years old. I make video games, particularly programming. I'm looking for an artist who doesn't mind devoting 10 or more hours a week to provide the art for a project of my own design and if things work out it could lead to more projects down the road as I have planned several projects in the future after the completion of this one. I have plans to submit this to steam and perhaps port over to unity as well.

You can expect :
Honesty, professionalism, and commitment from me.

There are a few things I expect of you should you choose to contact me :
First, is the most important, you must be able to update or show progress within 48 hours of accepting the job - and atleast every 3 days thereafter.

Secondly, I ask that you not take the job if you know you truly can't handle it.

Thirdly I'd just like a person i can work with that is honest and can communicate well. These are all issues I've faced recently which have led me here, often people take the jobs I offer, but 3-4 days in have nothing to show despite me taking time out of my busy day to provide materials and instruction - in a nutshell, consideration (don't waste my time as I wouldn't waste yours)

Onto the important stuff:

The project has an allotted budget of 750-1500$ for art at the moment.(As in right now at this moment I have 1500 dollars set aside exclusively for this). I expect this to change and the number to grow in the coming weeks or months. Everything for the project will be crafted from scratch(by you, the artist)

The look of the game will be a j-rpg style artwork with chibi characters and mages similiar to the image pictured below.

I can provide a short list of things that the project will require.

It's an action adventure title, themed with wizards. As such I will require a base character, with approximately 3-4 animation states. Some magical effects, some tile sets for various environments and user interface art as well. The base dimensions will be no larger than 64x64 size. Also several Unique Npcs, and Various enemies(most of which will have 3-4 animations).

I will provide the coding, and music, sound effects and everything else.

As a game developer I tend to be fairly quick, so it's imperative that I find someone who can consistently add work every 2-3 days or even more so that the flow of the project won't be stalled.

In terms of payment, I work principally through paypal, this helps me to document things with memos. I also have experience using o-desk, they have a system that allows a worker to document their work for the employer to see that I just love for hourly rated jobs!

I won't do %-up front pay with such a large amount as 1000+ dollars. What I will do is offer payment for the work that is done and completed as it is completed. This will allow me to incorporate work into the project as soon as it is done and also provide the artist to work on things at their leisure / personal pace.

I'm open to multiple artists as well for expediency, though the budget for this project will probably not change based on the number of artists hired so it's preferable that you have as much time to devote to this as possible, so that you can maximize the amount of money you can spend.

I can promise you that I'm not a nazi when it comes to work. I prefer simple, clean pixel art with limited colors, and not elaborate works that take days to finish.

Please, if you have an issue with any of the things I've mentioned, do not apply (I can't stress that enough) if you believe you can take the job and change your stance later to maximize your profits I can almost guarantee you, that will won't happen and nine of ten times-we will end up not working together. I'm rather up front with everything and I prefer the people I work with to be that way as well, that way everyone can know what to expect and what to do.)

Other than that, I'm very open to working with anyone who might be interested in working with me. A full list can be disclosed of exactly what I need done before you can decide if it's worth your time and i am also willing to do hourly rates as well under special circumstances.

You can reach me at avidanimefan@gmail.com - or reply to my inbox here on pixel joint. Mage Example</a>

It was pointed out to me that some of the things I said make me sound like a jerk of a boss to work for- which I feel is untrue so I shall elaborate with an excerpt from an email.

"I do have limited pixel skills, but not up to the level I can confidently pixel things like this. For instance last week I had a guy tell me that it would take him 6 hours to complete a job at 10$ an hour. I was fine with that, but then he said it would take 100$ worth of work to finish what i asked (which I also didn't complain about because he promised expediency). Then he later comes and says it will be 120+ dollars and that he miscalculated- the problem was that , to do one weapon overlay, it took me 15 minutes (creating the weapon itself from scratch as well) Yet he was trying to charge me over 12 hours. Even if it took him 45 mins to do a weapon overlay, at 6 overlays, I would have owed him 60$ at best. So this is why I took the time to mention the various things in my original post. "

In short, I just want to avoid situations like that. Thanks for your time.
