It almost looks like Krillin... The body seems so small come paired to the head. Also nobody stands like that.
His legs are thicker then his boxers. And they don't exactly look much like boxers.

Yo, Kalzar. Anyway my crits.
Waist is small, then all of a sudden he grows hips out of nowhere. :P Thighs are too big and is in a very uncomfortable stance.
I suggest moving the arms down a tad and inward. Remember, your palms reach near your crotch area. Also widen the waist and make the shorts a bit longer.

How does it look this time?
Edit: Added in a 3rd attempt.
Edit 2: Fixed his stomach :-)

Yeah, i'm not sure if this will help, but it's supposed to be a base for an anime game. If you could give me advice on what should be changed, that would help me a lot. As I said, this is my 4th attempt EVER at making an icon.

Well as I pointed out, the torso and the arms. I would edit it myself to show you what I mean but that wouldn't help you learn. If can hit me up on AIM for a better understanding of what I mean.

heh nice to see someone from byond trying to get better insted of just stealing, well i think his face/head is all squished up maybe make it a little bigger, some differnt skin tones, and some contrasts, and as for the body, he is all huge and weaird try to make it smaller and dont add musules, cuz its hard to get the musuels effect on a small 32x32. just make him plane i guess.

Actually the muscles aren't too hard to get on a 32by32.
Right now I think he should focus more on fixing the anatomy then move onto skin tones. Now that I look at it, the legs look a little junky.

LOL THe art could use going by snader's approach. He shows you a good technique: drawing colored blobs to get the perfect silhouette then coloring and shading over it. You should try it sometime, it helps a lot for me.

I can't do anything without the outline.. I get rid of it later when i shade and aa, but when starting, I always use lines rather than blobs

Yeah, i'm not really sure what was advice, and what wasn't :P Here is an updated version:
I redid the hands, and arms. I tried to fix up the legs a little too. Also, i'm not exactly sure if I am shading 100% correct.

Hmmm, I still don't think your quite getting what I'm saying. I'll just do an edit and send it to you on AIM to show you what I mean.

Come on, forget about the anatomy thing. The anatomy doesn't really help much on making it better. At least not really. It's all about the shading and outlines.

I take it you don't do alot of people sprites. Anatomy always comes first before shading and outlines. Its like modeling an airplane in 3DSMax but not including the wings.
I know, that was a bad example. Buts it gets my point across.

no really. screw the musculature in the first couple of steps. in step 1-2 your man should only consist of spheres (balls =P) cubes and cylinders

Stop making his arms BIGGER. His legs have to match up with his arms. Make a simple outline first, then try shading it.
