I haven't made pixel art in a year, so I wanted to make a simple envelope. But then it turned into 6 versions of the same envelope.

Here is my WIP so far:

I am having troubles with the color palette and dithering. Specifically, I am looking for advice on:

1) Are the colors okayish at this point? I feel like the browns are too boring and stay too much in the brown family (as in they don't gradually become blue or something interesting). Is there not enough contrast?

2) Am I starting the dithering correctly? I didn't finish it because I didn't want to waste time if it's wrong (so right now it looks like a straight line). It doesn't look like there is enough contract to me for the dithering to pop, but that is more related to color, right?

Edit: I realized my swatch has 9 colors, but the actual image has 12. I will make sure to fix the incorrect colors that remain for the next WIP.
