Make some of them anime glowey eye obs on it please! Maybe add some glass and lights. Giive it some mechanical interest. Yay for space fighters. YOu might also want to think of defining these areas on the design. What is the scale? to set the scale you need to make some elemints that tell the size of the ship.Also what is it's means of propulsion and defence. Right now it looks the equivelent of a metal potato. Good start.

Its looks very flat. you shoul try and make the sides shade wider, to give a more round effect.
make the interior black line less dark, and sellout the countours.
Should make it have more depth.
Also when doing something like that, try to imagine the shape in 3d. imagine the use of everything. if you put a line in the middle for some odd reason have it have a reason. cause right now i looks like nothing really, and the shading is wayy off.. yet it could be waaaay on, i simply dont know what the hell it is

Why did you remove the updated picture? It looked already better than
the original... still could benefit from some cockpit and maybe some
worn company or group logo and a few dirty spots that make it look used.

Looks a bit 'flat' to me.
I like the sides to be a darker colour, also, maybe if you shade is so it's different on left and right sides. Not just flipped!

Jus some basic colors, to show how you can add volume and depth by only having a nice color and shade placement to simulate 3d
i also modified the shape a bit, loots better that way imo. since i could not understand where you were going with the one you had.
hope this helps you understand a bit more what i said by try to understand the basic shapes of your image and build the colors around that

Its, uh, dull... Plain colours, put some texture on it, some dirt spots from battle, a ships name, scratches, texture of metal and make the cokpit a bit visual through the glass shell. Loose the black colour, replace it with some another dark tone, AA it.

The black lines are a little too much with the silver contrast colors. I'd suggest, if you're going to go with the higher contrast, to lighten the black to a different color.

I agree that a small satellite dish or antenna is a must (for communication), but guns shouldn't be obligatory.
It could well be just a civilian transport vessel or maybe an
industrial working craft, in which case a mining drill or some
grappling hooks would be nice.
Either way, guns or no guns, I think the panels on the front fit nicely
to attach the additional features to, or even to hide the features
beneath them and make them come out when needed.
