Hello,

Above is my first run animation. I posted it on a different forum, and they told me to add more vertical movement (which I plan on doing soon). Aside from that, what do you guys think? Please tear it apart, as I do plan on becoming the best at making pixel art ;) (Currently, scrub level).

Cheers,

Seemed like this needed a response so I'll do my best, a bit rusty on animation...

For a first running animation you're doing a challenging perspective. This feels almost 3/4 toward camera. Is this intentional?

The character needs definition in their neck so you can see the top of the near arm as it goes through it's cycle.

It does kinda feel like the torso and head are separate from the arms and legs. And it feels like the torso/head are expanding and contracting rather than bouncing up and down, because the bottom of the torso doesn't seem to really raise and lower as much as the head does.

Is the head supposed to have tentacles or a head scarf or what? It seems like either of these would have a lot more motion in them during a run. At the moment the torso being an unshaded purple blob isn't helping the clarity.

Overall though I find it pretty appealing. It feels well stylized and cartoony.
