Heeey guys. :D I have a bit of predicament. Working on a monochromatic
piece, and 1) I wanna know what you guys think and 2) what I should do
for a background. I wanted to do a cloudy night sky, just about to rain, with perhaps some simple towers/buildings... But, because Tride's hair and Candide the cat are so dark already, I don't want them to get too lost in the background. :x Help? |

No real crits in this piece.. its really good why dont u try some waterscape since u r using some purple/blue ------------- 
I know! Leafs shouldn't make shadow... |

It look great just the way it is, if you do add a background add some moving clouds -------------  got game?

maybe just a night sky would do it for me. This is great so far, im
not it even needs a background. Perhaps use one of the lighter blues for the sky and build up lots of depth with dark colors for clouds. You could use the lightest blue for a moon. also block in some rocky silhouettes. ------------- Snark, we love yuu. |

  I like Sharks idea, i also like the idea of it being about to rain. It should be pretty atmoshperic. You could have the moon quite large, behind the lighter side of him so that the light is splayed out behind him, so the hair and cat dont get lost in the darkness. Adding a moon would be good, as that would require some ambient highlights on the back of the hair and fur and separate them from the rest of the night sky. :EDIT: 'Course, that might mean you have to change your current light source. :( |
