Transparent means that the background shows through. The pictures in your profile have white backgrounds which is not the same thing at all...   http://www.pixeljoint.com/pixels/profile.asp?id=963 - http://www.pixeljoint.com/pixels/profile.asp?id=963

Pixelblink made a tutorial using a free graphics app on how to make your pix transparent... http://www.pixeljoint.com/pixels/tutorials.asp?id=2260 - http://www.pixeljoint.com/pixels/tutorials.asp?id=2260

Hmm, Sedge, you're using Internet Explorer, right?
I think that's the problem... I looked at Lotuz's gallery in FireFox and the transparancy showed fine, but in IE it was white.
That's probably because they're PNG files... Some people I know at DeviantART are also having trouble seeing transparancy with PNG files in Internet Explorer.

Lotuz: GIF is also a good image format for pixel art... It can only have 256 colours but transparancy will work correctly in Internet Explorer

Thx blueberry_pie.

Sorry lotuz, I wasn't aware of any PNG issues with Internet Explorer. I'll take a look tonight with Firefox.

I think that if your image isn't a large one and isn't using over 256 colours, you shouldn't need to be using png as a file type. I'd suggest doing it right in gif so it shows up properly in ALL browsers. But, that's just me

Cool.

Btw, I couldn't find any documentation that explained why transparent PNG sometimes does not work properly in IE.

I always use Jasc Animation Shop, but it's not freeware so you'll have to pay for it after the 30-day trial version runs out.
Besides that I don't know any other program to make transparant animations.
