Hello, I'm an electronic musician, and I'm looking for a wicked-cool animated avatar that I can slather all over everything. I made one for myself a while ago, but it's lacking a bit...

My music-name used to be Jimm the Dog (hence the dog), and although I've shortened it to just Jimm, I'm going to keep the dog avatar, just to remind me where I came from ;)

As to the specs of the project... the dog should be mostly black, but with a white stripe from his forehead to his nose, white front feet, a white chin and chest, and a white tip on the end of his tail. Try to give him a sort of goofy look (as above), but make him doing something cool, like mixing on some decks at a club. Or, if you want to keep it simple, just him nodding his head to a beat with some DJ headphones on would suffice.

As to payment, I won't be able to pay you with cash, but I could possibly make some music for any projects you're working on, and I'd gladly give you credit, and pass around some word-of-mouth on how good of a job you did :)

Plus, you never know... maybe I'll make it big :P

For those of you who doubt that I'm a music-guy, here's some of my stuff (and ALSO a shameless plug):

http://jimm_the_dog.madtracker.net/mp3/Potential.mp3
(second song I ever made)

http://jimm_the_dog.madtracker.net/mp3/zeta.mp3
(experiment with high-quality synth of the same name)

http://jimm_the_dog.madtracker.net/mp3/Maybe.mp3
(lots of filter automation in this sucker... you can tell it's automated when that bass pad sounds almost like it's talking)

http://jimm_the_dog.madtracker.net/mp3/Nabdrel.mp3
(my current project, I think it's neat... needs work, of course... it's got more sound clarity than the others)

I've only been at it for about half a year now, but I've improved a fair bit, so I hope you'll consider this request! :D

If you're interested at all, email me at jimm_the_dog@hotmail.com, and we can try to hammer something out.

Thanks!

Jimm

I made some avatar. If you like it, I can animate it.

Wow, thanks so much!!!! I had set "watch this topic for replies," but I guess it didn't work, so that's why it took me a couple days to reply. All I can say is, Modgen, you rock. I would love more than anything to have that gorgeous piece of work animated.

Hmm... not wanting to rush art, or step on anyone's toes, I'm just wondering: how long does it generally take to animate a project?

I'm well aware that Modgen is doing this out of the kindness of his heart, and the last thing I want to do is offend him. But I've been checking e'ery day, and I'm just wondering whether I should keep waiting, or if Modgen has moved on to other projects. I can personally understand if he's moved on, since it's often quite difficult for me to work on a single project for a long period of time.

Any information/update would be greatly appreciated, and I truly hope that this post isn't against some sort of Pixel Artists' Code. Really. You guys are great.

Well, if you get in contact with him by email or something, you can talk about this with him.
