So I'm tasked with developing an icon that represents both Trash AND Recycling. I thought a trash can with the recycle symbol but "they" said no.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Trash and recycling, as was as rubbish goes, are opposites, so I'm having a hard time imagining what this is for. What is the purpose of this icon? Why do they need a trash/recycling icon?

If it's for something like a link to an info page about the two, maybe a half-half icon, with one half featuring stinky trash and one half featuring recyclables in a recycling.

It's part of an interface to a webmap I administer. The communications people want to remove the recycling and combine with trash because the pickups are the same days and areas. They also hate the broom icon.

If I have time I want to start developing some animated icons for these interfaces of the maps I develop and administer. I think that would be awesome.

Make one of those scooper things and stick that recyclying logo on it?

Too much like a pooper scooper, lol. I think we're gonna try a trash can with a recycle logo hovering to the front and right of it. *shrugs*
