'Allo.
So, a Japanese musician Fumitake Igarashi got hold of me towards the end of 2014 and commissioned me to do a simple animated music video of his Pac-Man remix song. I started it, Carl Douglas http://pixeljoint.com/p/13899.htm - (Argyle) did the first half of Pac-Man sprites (some of them on his 3DS I believe) and then I went and put the project on the backburner for about a year. Not wanting to half-finish a project, I decided to spend some time this holiday finishing it. So, I did, and that's nice. I used Photoshop to do sprites and animated the stuff in Anime Studio Pro. I made a click-track that was the same BPM as the song, and used that to land action on the beats as the clicks are represented visually in the animation program. Premiere Pro to comp it. Ya. Before that, I storyboarded it out in Toon Boom Storyboard Pro and tried to be clever with keeping things simple. Props to Carl for adding some extra pizzaz to Pac-Man's animations (I'd recommend working with him if you're looking for a pixel artist btw. Have worked with him on nearly all my pixel projects, he always brings the radicalness to the table :) Never met in person, I'm from South Africa, he's from the US, but all good.) https://vimeo.com/150368157 - https://vimeo.com/150368157

If this is finished, it's not a WIP, and thus not appropriate for this forum, is it? xP You should submit it to jalonso for the next Stray Pixels though! Edit: Nevermind, looks like it's already in the PJ news. |
