Hello members!
I'm pretty old user here, i made my pixeljoint account somewhere in year 2006 when i was 13 years old or something, and i haven't been very active here, and i haven't been very active pixel artist either.
But... currently i'm developing little prototype game and i have difficulty to make "lightray" into aquarium look great.
As you can see, the light ray looks pretty dumb, and i haven't done much for it. (Nevermind the fishes, they are pretty WIP too..)
So! Anyone got any good tips/ideas or some pictures which could give me some hints to make it look better.
Thanks!

What is the light ray coming from within the world of the game? Also, what is its purpose for the game? These are the two major factors that affect how it should look.

Sorry i didn't remember to mention that. :D
The light is some sort of aquarium upgrade you can buy. When you start the game, there will be no light. It should look like normal aquarium light. I'm thinking to make the whole aquarium look bit darker when there is no light. (Also when the player is playing at night, the light will be off.)
It's an sprite on top of every other sprite. (well actually almost on top, there is own sprite layer for the aquarium glass(and dirt.)
Oh and the purpose is bit secret, it's kinda like fish simulator with twist of pokemonish stuff.
