Looking for a pixel artist and/or comic book artist to help out in developing a demo of our game for Kickstarter. The plan is to get a demo of the first stage done in about 6 months.
THE GAME:
You are a private investigator that is sent to follow a jilted lover about town. Since your target is doing nothing but playing online games for hours on end, you become listless and notice a suspicious individual heading out of a convenience store. You follow this paranoid individual down and they end up summoning demons that easily maul you. Near death, you hear a voice asking if you'd like to make a deal. Out of desperation, you agree and your arm transforms into a hellish horror. It's kill or be killed.
Basically, you are dragged into a special forces unit that is investigating the viral spread of popularity of a cult across the world. Strange things have been happening and it is your job to keep the existence of demons under wraps.
Basic Mechanics:
The investigation segments are basically point and click style interactions with static backgrounds and you have items and interrogations to solve puzzles.
The combat segments are isometric 2D real-time fighting sort of like Hyper Light Drifter or Zelda.
Art Style
We are looking to do a pixel art style for the combat segments and a comic book style for portraits, backgrounds, and comic-style cut-scenes. Can send rough sketches for a reference of artistic vision(I'm no pro). Basically dark, gloomy, and graphic.
The Engine
We'll be using Unity and C# for most of the programming and stuff.
The Team(So Far)
-A Software Engineer that is getting the hang of Unity
-Second Programmer
-Jack of All Trades, Master of None (design, audio, some art, programming, writing, Kickstarter arrangements)
Our Goal:
We plan to have a stripped down prototype done within 6 months that people can play for free when we launch a Kickstarter campaign. This will basically be the first stage with some combat, 2 short cut-scenes, and some dialog. If we are to get funded, we will expand the team based on how large a budget is funded.
Yes, this is currently a hobby project, but we're trying to make this a legit release for Steam. I can send over a more specific description of the game plus a WIP Design Document if you are interested.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
