(still just a sketch)

Sorry for burning your eyes...

Insects are probably the only thing i can draw wich confidence in RL. Always ahd a facination with everything with 6 legs or more...

Once in a zoo the guide was holding a giant tarantula and asked me if i wanna hold it...i said no and he asked ,,you said you are not afraid of spiders'' and i said ,,i dont wanna hurt it''....at the end i hold it and scared of all my friends...

Why am i telling you beautyful PJ memeber this? Because i a insect freak so how do the legs look? It is pretty hard to make them look kinda right this sketch and i dont wanna start with problems in the work flow...because i hate redoing things mid work...

The shape is a bit spikey.
Fatten up the abdomen a bit, maybe drop it down at the back a bit.
Knee joints are usually kind of like swollen and round in bugs.

Color is pretty good you might try a slight hue shift toward a warm color for your lightest color.

Get some hard tiny reflections on those eyes, maybe desaturate the red color a bit (unless the red is just where you're blocking in shapes for now)

Keep going has good potential.

Beautiful lil buggy. It seems to have one snaggletooth but i think it should have another.

What sort of insect is this based off of, by the way? I don't have much advice because I cannot look up a reference.

Nice update!
Make far legs is darker (for highlighted the head and back of this monster). And white color is not suitable (it is too mach brighter than the illuminated areas of the carapace of the monster).
You can More think about the color combinations - these are not so successful.
More, you can put it on any surfaces (rock, spacecraft, lunar surface ...)

Thanks.

Yea i used the hwite color as an filler until i know a better one...

lets see how i make the surface...i am not to expirienced with that...

This surface can not show completely, but only a small plot illuminated with the same ligght as the monster.
What is this creature, what it can do, from where it ???
Think up any surface with anything you associate the creature.
for example - https://i.imgur.com/Yb8pTb4.png  or https://i.imgur.com/l49bJZ6.png
Show us your imagination! :D

You never know what you can do till you try. It looks better than nothing at oll. This is similar to the cracked clay http://ru.stockfresh.com/thumbs/lunamarina/319683_%D0%BA%D1%80%D0%B0%D1%81%D0%BD%D1%8B%D0%B9-%D0%BF%D0%BE%D1%87%D0%B2%D1%8B-%D1%82%D0%B5%D0%BA%D1%81%D1%82%D1%83%D1%80%D1%8B-%D0%BF%D0%BE%D0%BB%D1%83-%D1%84%D0%BE%D0%BD-%D0%BF%D1%80%D0%B8%D1%80%D0%BE%D0%B4%D0%BD%D0%BE%D0%B3%D0%BE.jpg - like this
Increase some of them, or else it pieces look overly same - it's boring

I see...so bigger pieces?

pixeljoint.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=25159

these are some tiles that roughly resamble clay...shoud i do something like that?

Also try to orient most of them horizontally (make most of them wider than they are tall). The perspective on the insect suggests the viewer is not much higher than it, while the perspective on the cracked clay looks like we're directly overhead.

coud you explain further?

(as always...not sure what you mean)

In which of these sketches does the perspective look "correct" compared to the figure? Probably the one on the right. What makes it look like we're viewing it from slightly above the ground/character rather than from a bird's eye (directly above looking down) is that the shapes in the ground are, for the most part, squished-looking vertically, they're wider than they are tall.

I'm tired of explaining - with experience you will understand that a combination of the more complex colors are more pleasing for your eyes than the pure colors.

Okay..very helpful anyways ^^

Colors are always something very complicated for me because i dont see the appeal of colors most opf the time...i have to make most color very bright or us eblack and white because i have difficulys with contrast...maybe i shoud go to the doctor but i dont think thats anything.

Sorry for wasting your time...i am not the smartest and i am like a boulder that needd alot of energy to get going...but someday i can roll with alot of force by myself ^^

Again very sorry for any complication due to my own state of mind...(another word for: i am stupid)

EDIT:
Better?

Ah, you posted while I was wording my response!
Be careful with your lightsource. What is causing those little shadows on the rocks? They seem to be lit by a different lightsource than the bug.
Also, since you have that dark dirt colour available, why not use it to AA the bug's shadow?

Date Posted: 19 June 2016 at 9:23am
I didt even think about adding AA to the shadow!

I will see how that will look ^^

And I like a shadow on dirt - convex plane looks cool.
