Why does the sword not have any AA?

sh*t Son.. You really don't care about size, do you? This is huge, and looks fantastic so far. Definatly more detail/ texture is needed, but it's quite an eye pleaser. The sword looks pretty bad-ass so far, just I'd lighten the top colour, black stands out too much.

(i think this new sword is so much detailed... don't like it at all)

Hmm. Is his torso meant to be bent? I'm just wondering why I see the
left leg, but from that angle, the right leg would be more visible if
his torso (-> the cloak) is pointing straightforward. Seems a bit
odd.
But hell, great, huge pixelart, love the colours and concept!

the left side of the cape is a bit to the right, but its a cape, it don't have a fixed position ^^ (and in this intentionaly position i dont have to draw his left leg ^^)

Anti-aliased outline looks damn messy to me. It's like you've lost your glasses and can't focus on it. Is it only me?

isn't that the intention? to make the lines more defocused?
More critics please!

One issue here is that instead of aaing the colors that touch, you're aaing the inside color and white. For the edges, aa from the OUTLINE color to the BG color.
Otherwise, good work and keep updating this thing!

I sent you to the forums because you keep uploading this piece when it seems you keep revising it. As you can see, you've gotten alot more praise and comments on how to improve than you did or would have on the main site. I think it's a very promising piece and look forward to the final submission

My
opinion is that you shouldn't notice AAing at all without zooming in.
If you do, there's too much of it or wrong colors used. But maybe you
shouldn't listen to me on this subject anyway, I'm so
anti-anti-aliasing it almost hurts.

but i ddnt know that i cant re-upload it, im new here, my intention was to receive critics on the site and change it there...
Anyway, i've just changed the external AA color to grey.
but in fact the aa color must be between the 2 colors involved (the line and the bg in this case) and the line follows the object color (the line of the cape is blue, but its hard to notice due to the contrast) thats why i used a blue AA in the cape... but i must admit that the grey fits better =P

I think that's a good call. And hopefully you don't ever have to place
you transparent picture on a dark background. It wouldn't look nice.
Liking your work btw. The size of the robot (and the sword!) is impressive. You can feel the power.

I still think the outer cape needs to show some folds and wrinkles based on where the body parts are. as it is right now it just looks like it's just floating there.

It's by no means perfect, but i thought i should let you know of the jaggedy problem you're getting from the AA and smoothening you're doing. Also, you have quite a few colours that are being left out from use elsewhere, where they really could help (eg. shadow of the fin).
And i agree with Setz.
Nice work though, a big improvement on the earlier one. Keep it up.

Very nice. I feel the grey used for the AAing on the sword should be a bit darker though.
Sythius: AA means http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-aliasing - anti-aliasing . Manual anti-aliasing, that is - automatic anti-aliasing by tools like Photoshop is a big no-no in pixel art.

Join the club. You and I are the only members, it seems.
I like this piece and admire its size. I did not understand why it was
rejected at first, but do now. Bear in mind that exterior AA does look
horrid with certain themes used by the Pj members.

Thats why Png with alpha transparencies exists.

alpha transparencies require the use of extra tools besides the pencil tool, thus being npA

due to the number of times i submited before approval... i ddnt know that i coul'd to that
but i submitted again yesterday, i think it is finished now, the cape problem that setzer told certainly would improve the piece, but i dont think its not a problem, my intention was that the cape was just floating there anyway (and im not familiarized with capes, clothes in general, its better leave this way ^^)
thank you all that helped me to "finish" my best work
