Okay.
This w will be in p probably for ages cause I tend to do it h-u-g-e.
I'm not sure what's it for. A game of any kind I'm probably uncapable
to do but some kind of flash or shockwave page with interactivity in it
should succeed. If nothing else, I'll have a great desktop image for
myself.
There's not much to see yet, just started, but it would be nice to hear
your comments about a concept, an atmosphere and over-all feeling of
it. Never done anything this small before.

Don't mind counting the colors. There's plenty and will be heck of a
lot more. Will probably use full 256 colors for the background and
10-20 for each character or other moving objects. 256 colors and yet
this monochrome? Yes. I'm on loose. Lock up your daughters.
I will probably pull some of the shadows off after adding more stuff
and detail. They're darn hard to handle. Didn't for example know how to
end the shadow of the house, so I continued it to the fence.
Oh and the guy's not even supposed to walk the door effortless. Wanted
some cartoonish feeling into it and decided to do everything quite tiny
compared to the characters.
Thanks for your attention. Now hit me.

Shape out those trees a bit more. The rest seems fine to me so far.

This is very good, but one thing is bothering me. You call it monochrome, yet you use varying shades for different objects. If you unify the plaette, it should look a bit better and make the character stand out even more. As-is, the low-but-visible amount of contrast between objects makes it look somewhat dirty or messy or something. Good luck with this peice!

This really is lovely in its own way. I especially like the roof, fence and the dude.
Only problem i see is the trees, compared with the blockyness of everything else, they seem quite 2d and have less of an even structure (with the random tuffts coming out). I'd say completely re-do them, i wouldn't try to make them tooo realistic, i'm imagining a phat cylindrical trunk, attached to the ground with tuffts of grass, then a bubbly looking top (although that's fairly cliched)... so yeah, brilliant stuff, apart from the trees ^_^

<3 Jalonso
@Monkey 'o Doom: I'm trying to keep hue almost the same all the way.
Added some saturation for the grass and the trees to bring them out a
little bit. Looked kinda flat and boring to me before. I'll have to
re-consider my color schemes after finishing some more pieces and
having a revision.
Good point with the trees, you all. I'll do them more bubble and plastic looking to fit the world.
Been helpful and encouraging so far. Thank you for the effort, guys. <3

This took a while, but it was worth it! ;-D
I like the 'old skool' look. Great trees. Maybe I prefer the first palette, but this one is quite nice too. Now, what could you add that would make it really different from all those isocities?
There's good stuff in your gallery, hope to see more!

That's a good question. Probably nothing but we'll see. Maybe I'll figure something out. Hopefully it's not gonna take another 3 years before my next update.

Just a little brainfart to give the trees some variation. Why not put some "square" trees in there aswell?
Now add a school, or a hospital.. a policestation.. firemen... the entrance to lvl 2-1... etc. etc. etc.
