Hello.
I've done pixel art for a long while now (personally, not professionally), but I've never studied other pixel art, or communicated with other pixel artists. It didn't occur to me until only recently that there may be a community for this stuff. This place is pretty cool beans.
I, personally, use MS Paint, and have used it for a little over a decade to make my pixel stuff. Pixel by pixel. But I've been informed that MS Paint may not be the best thing for what I'm trying to do.
What does everyone use? And what is their process?

Use what works for you and feels natural.
Its not the software that matters.
Its the skills you develop.
Occasionally try new apps and software to see if it works out.
I use Photoshop to pixel.
Welcome to PJ. Post your work.

I use grafx2 http://pulkomandy.tk/projects/GrafX2 but with each day it's getting more and more obsolete.

I use Pro Motion. It provides lots of features and is highly configurable. The downside is that it is not cheap.
