My friend, you shouldn't say that. As long as you practice you will improve yourself and bring to life pixel your artistic vision! :D
I introduced my self to pixelart in 2009 with this:

At this time I was in the process of producing few pieces for dreamy serie in this "style" and with this level.
One year after I remade this picture like that because what i've done were clearly outdated to me

, and then started to remake the whole serie as it is known now and keep improving myself.
So... Between the first version and the last one there is a couple of experiences, tests and fails. A lot of pixelart observasion and analysis and self critiscism. The community of PJ help a lot to improve.
So my guess is that you will indeed achieve what you want to do with pixel art with a bit of work and patience! Keep going!! :)
My first advice to you: Keep track of your works and keep track of the process of making your works. It's really important to me to see and understand what I've done and how to fix/improve wrong stuff. :)

Thanks a lot for your kind words. You're probably right. :) By the way, even your introduction to pixelart is crazy good, you're one awesome artist.

:)
Also keep in mind that pixel art is still about drawing. So design skillz is required even for the tiniest pieces of work.
When one experiment stuff it's often about pixel art technique, not about drawing technique. Do not forget to ALSO practice hand drawing, it will help you a lot!
