Hi all, I am looking for an experienced and talented pixel artist to join my team, making Xenosis: Alien Infection, a story driven Action / Exploration / Survival game with a top down 2D retro inspired style.
About the Game:

You
are a deep space salvage hunter, who has discovered the remains of the
starship “Carpathian”, thought destroyed on a deep space mission nearly
50 years ago on the planet Epsilon Eridani. How did it get here? What
happened to it?
You know that the data core housed in the ships
AI will be worth a lifetime of credits to the right buyer, so you dock
with the ship to retrieve it. You only hope that the ship is empty…
surely nothing can be alive after so long?
Fight, Scavenge, Craft... do what you need to survive
The
game is a top down, 2D scifi action/adventure/survival game with a
focus on story driven content, exciting combat, tense exploration,
stealth and crafting. Its developed in Unity and is an entirely pixel
art tile based game.

About You:
You
are a passionate, experienced pixel artist and pixel animator, with a
passion for detail and polish. You love scifi and appreciate the
challenges of working on a top down perspective. You can work to a
design brief and are committed to delivering if you take on the project
and can deliver to an agreed schedule. You are also want to be a part of
the indie scene, and enjoy being a part of the creative process.
Ideally you use Pyxel to work in, and can supply layered .pyxel files, although this isnt a deal killer if not.
What you will be doing:
You
will primarily be designing the enemy alien lifeforms for the game,
this includes the concept (tying into the games story), and providing
the sprite sheets. You will also be required to design and develop new
tilesets for the game (non-animated), some props (mixture of animated /
non animated) for example, desks, chairs, computers, machines etc.
You will also be part of the design process for the UI and will create the assets for that.
Play the pre-alpha:
Ok,
so you are interested so far? thats cool, so why not download the
pre-alpha and have a play yourself and see if this is something you want
to be a part of.

Ok, had a go? Still interested? then read on!
The business stuff:
The game is intended for release on Steam in September / October 2017, with Xbox One and PS4 in January.
As
a studio, we are already working with Microsoft and Sony, ready for
console release, with Switch release in discussion with Nintendo.
We
are working with a major publisher who will be handling all
distribution and marketing, but I cannot divulge that currently until
NDA's have been signed, suffice to say they are legendary in the gaming
world
The
team so far consists of myself, the owner of the studio as game
designer and programmer, we have a story writer and musician. We need an
artist now to complete the team.
Payment:
I am offering two methods of payment.
1. Agreed fee per spritesheet,
this will be paid upon successful delivery of the spritesheet and that
the creative brief has been agreed to have been met. You will be paid
via BACS or Paypal, upon receipt of an invoice for the work. No
additional fees will be paid other than the agreed price.
2. Revenue Share.
You will be paid revenue share for the title, to be paid across all
platforms, up to an agreed capped amount for the lifetime of the games
sales. This is a generous offer, as we firmly believe in sharing success
with those who help gain success.
Next Steps:
If
you are interested and want to apply for the role, please email
info@nerdrage.co.uk with your portfolio. Please try and provide examples
relevant to the game we are making.
If selected to go forward,
you will be required to design a single alien sprite that you think fits
the game's feel and asthetic. We will use this to assess your attention
to detail, ability to use color, light and shadow and your creativity
around the theme.
So, any questions or comments, please do get in touch here or on twitter http://www.twitter.com/EpicNerdRage - @EpicNerdRage
Kind Regards,
James.
