Pixel Gap Entertainment, looking to hire contractor(s) for the following:

Project: 2D, sprite-based sidescrolling platformer/adventure hybrid, in the mode of games like Super Mario Bros, Zelda 2, Rygar, and similar.

The game is set in the far future, and will include "standard" settings such as "grassy plains," as well as towns, ruins, large ancient monuments, tech, and the like, and possibly possible "fun" pseudo-retro-arcade art.  Note this is not "post-apocalyptic" in any meaningful sense.

Wanted:

Pixel artist(s)/animator(s) for the following:
• Terrain, decorative, powerups
• Characters, NPCs, bosses
• Parallax backgrounds / background art tiles (once art style established)

Art style is not currently set, but looking for the following:

• Strongly "tile-oriented" art with discrete objects (Mario, Zelda, Fez, etc), *not* "scene" or "setpiece" styles (Earthworm Jim, Ori, ...)
• Simple, colorful, stylistic

Rates: Work will be scheduled and paid in small batches, with partial payment up-front.  Rates will be based on complexity, and be a flat payment per batch.  Revenue share is not being offered at this time. Payment via Paypal or business check.

Schedule: Must be available to start shortly.  Looking to complete a number of batches within the next couple of weeks, including main character design, basic terrain, and possibly some basic backdrops.

Contact: All inquiries must be sent to mailto:contracting@pixelgapentertainment.com - contracting@pixelgapentertainment.com , and include the following:

• A link to the artist's portfolio
• What content you will work on (portfolio should include similar work)
• Per-sprite/item rate as applicable
• Availability
• Where you saw this post
