Ok, so, first of all, I'd like to apologize if this isn't the way to contact you, I'm still getting used to everything.

The reason why I am posting this is because my gif "Crimson Blood Skull" appears to have a problem with the
"Submitted pieces must not be prescaled (e.g. 2x zoom). Small files are exempt from this restriction when they serve as a preview to detail files." rule, and to be honest, I don't really understand it, is it because I used 1 pixel to make the blood paticle effect instead of 4 like with the rest of the gif? If so, should I change it in order for it to get posted?

I sincerely apologize for being this confused, but I'd like a clear explanation of that particular rule.

Sincerely,
AequusNox

PS: I leave the gif attached so you can see it here instead of having to go to my gallery.

I can't speak for the mods, but using different sized pixels is pretty much universally frowned upon in pixel art. Similar to pieces with too many colors.

It would probably be accepted if the skull shape itself had pixels as small as the blood and eye effect.

Thanks for reaching out, and yes this is the right way :). I understand your confusion, you can't scale this further down.

However, Kyrieru is 100% correct. Generally speaking pieces in the gallery need to be all at 1x scale, in this artwork the majority is at a 4x scale.

The problem is, they are just 4 pixels arranged to look bigger, I liked the aesthetic so I did it that way

@Hapiel

Oh, so the problem is that the majority of it looks like 4x4 pixels? Is it ok if I fix it by making the majority of it look like 4x2 while keeping the blood particle effect untouched or something like that? Or is there another way to fix it? I appreciate all the help I can get

To make any piece gallery ready, at the very least it needs to show control and deliberate choices at pixel level. By working with 4x blocks you kinda give yourself a quick and easy way out, which might work aesthetically but is not very interesting to our gallery.
Finding another resolution for those blocks is not going to solve that, you'd have to find a way to make those blocks/lines interesting that involves individual pixel perfection.

I can imagine that is a bit confusing and vague, if you're interested in keeping to work on this image I highly recommend you take this to the WIP forums, there people can feedback on your art and help it get much better!

Good luck!
