Draw a scene which involves water. For example: a calm lake, a gardener watering their plants or a mockup of an underwater level, anything goes as long as there is some water visible.

The twist: there are no "blue" values allowed. You can use any colors between [0,0,0] and [255,255,0], but make sure that each color has 0 for the blue component!  If using hex codes, colors will be #XXXX00.  (This also means no gray, white, or magenta, as all include some value in the blue channel).

Canvas Size - Max 128x96 (any orientation)
Colors - Max 16, no blue in any of the colors.
Transparency - No.
Animation - No.

Since when is a RGB color channel of a palette called subpixel?

Interesting challenge though!

You are right, that is a bit confusing. Challenge wording is updated!

I was having some trouble visualizing the available color space for the challenge, so I made this square with red and green values being the x-y coordinates.

Something I noticed about the colors is that with the exception of black, they all have maximum saturation. The value rises linearly from 0 to 100 as you approach the lower and right edges. And of course, the Hue is limited from 0 to 120, exactly a third of the available spectrum.

As someone who thinks exclusively in HSV, this information gives me a good starting point on what I'd like to do for the challenge. Hopefully it'll be interesting, if not useful, for someone else out there :v

I started in RGB and then reduced all B to 0. Worked well to get something on the page, as the full saturation look can be quite challenge to start.

Ok, I think the problem I have with this week's challenge isn't not being able to use blue - it's not being able to use white! Any advice on how to make a piece that looks good without white tones...?

Yellow is the new white!

Whenever part of the theme is water related, the first thing that comes to my mind is warships, particularly the Yamato.

Really poor illumination (but in a cool, stylish way).
