Ok i have a seperate folder where i keep all my artwork
i save them as png's now everytime i try to open them up in ms paint
it says 'paint cannot read this file This is not a valid bitmap file, or its format is not currently supported this computer' has never done that. can anyone help?

Yeah, that throws me off too.
 
We could really use some more info. OS, service packs, etc. would be helpful.

If you try to upload it to photobucket or some other image host, what does it say?

Well i just downloaded the service pack 2 the other day and everything seemed to work fine until yesterday. I an't put it on my photobucket becuase my computer wont even open the files. im runing on XP.

Surely you can just upload the file without having to open it yourself?

So your telling me to upload the whole folder? Well i tried loading each image onto photbucket and this is what it said..

*One or more pictures has an invalid format (jpg|gif|png|bmp|tif|swf)
This is a PNG image im trying to upload.

Maybe it's because MSPaint sets all PNG files to have capslock?
.png and .PNG are two different things to the interweb.

Well the image is the same as all other .PNG formats...  But i still don't know whats wrong with these damn thing...

Try renaming them to .bmp. It could be that Paint was just saving them named as .png when they were bmps on the imside.

No. Doing that would change nothing but the filename. It *might* fix your problem though.

Nope didn't do anything. I just don't get why this happened i have never had problems like this.

This is pretty strange. Have you tried opening the files with another image-viewing/editing program?
If you can't open them with another program either, your files might be corrupt.

Yes i tried opening them in photoshop, mspaint, graphics gale, image ready,
fax viewer :S

I'm guessing they're corrupted then. Nothing you can do about it, I think.

Try opening it with gimp. If not, then open it with Windows Picture and Fax viewer.

The problem is i can't even open the files up. Windows fax viewer does not work as stated above..
