Hello everyone!
My name is Sofa. I've been developing a CCG game (initial plans are for an NFT Crypto release, but I'd also like to eventually move into the printed forms as well). The game is called Pixel Planets, originally designed off some really bad pixelated NFT's I made, but then wanted a use case around. Together with my nerd friends, we have developed much of the game but it's now time to start developing the art for the cards, and I am not a real artist.
The Game
The game is a CCG, based around Science Fiction/Science Fantasy ideals. We want the lore to be created by the players, with lots of open-ended design/verbiage, but nothing concrete. As the universe is infinite, so are these cards and spaces. Planets have stats that you then build upon. Orbitals, and terratorials. Then fleets to attack opposing planets, plus other actions that subterfuge opposing teams. We hope to start playtesting in the next week or so, allowing for better writeups of the play style. I am happy to do a call and show some of the documentation that we have now with interest though.
Needs
* Pixelated imagery for ~250 cards
Design
The ideas of design are to try and encompass large scales. Think Warhammer 40k style arts, but in a pixelated matter. Not all cards will be such massive overhauls either.
Wants
* I would love to have an artistic lead, someone that takes over the cards and becomes part of the team, not just the artist.
* Preferably someone with science fiction/ Science fantasy love. TTRPG/ Nerdy nerdy game playing or experience in the gaming realms.
Payment
This project is currently being bootstrapped by a small team. Funds are not empty, but they are out of pocket until we launch the game and hopefully see success (signs point to yes). I'd like people that are enthusiastic about the future of Pixel Planets. That said, I am open to contracting or if an artist wants to take the lead role section it would be a percentage of our launch plus salary during future development.
