Hello
We are a small group of coders interested in making a snakes on a plane game that will take the player throught the events of snakes on a plane via sidescrolling shooter/beat-em up and minigames.
We have started the code and have a playable engine but we have no sprites for the charactes, (samuel l jackson, snakes, weapons, ect.) So we are looking for talented pixel artists that would be willing to help make the sprites for this game.
The game is art based and not tile based! We will use pixel-art or wacom drawn backgrounds (with the collision placed in) to help the aesthetic appeal. We are looking for more 16-bit detailed characters like the ones found on super NES opposed to NES.
Included is the test level we compiled from repainted megaman sprites.  (THIS IS ONLY FOR TESTING PURPOSES) If you are interested in creating character sprites or levels please contact us. We are working on the web site, we have no previous work this is our first game. We usually code for applications.
I like the site, thanks for reading and keep up the good work.

We are making the game to be released as freeware.

Such as "Codename gordon" was originally not liscensed by valve (until completion) and Halo 2d by bungie. It is a fan service to expand the entertainment of the film.
Since the beginiing the ad campaign for snakes was totally different than anything that has been experienced before. Fans were encouraged to make trailers, songs, clothing, anything to get the word out. And with the DVD to still be released this can be yet another way we can help people enjoy "Snakes on a Plane" and encourage them to buy the film.

Actually when making no money off your creation you have nothing to worry about, they would send a cease and desist not an automatic law suit under the current circumstances. But we am not interested in replies about what you think may happen to us. Frankly we don't care. We just want to know if anyone wants to help.

well, i do care about what would happen,i dont want to see a member here getting screwed over via a lawsuit and/or criminal charges being pressed upon them.

Snakes on a Plane is copyright 2006 New Line Productions, Inc. who is owned by Time Warner, whom you MUST get a license from (freeware or not) in order to use thier copyrighted material.

dont try to talk to me about legal issues, i know copyright law inside and out.

once you obtain a license, you are welcome to repost this, until then this is locked in order to protect my fellow pixelers.
