i've got a few..

GAMEBOY COLOR: 192x144, 32 colors.. limitations: 4-color-palette for each 8x8 block

ZX SPECTRUM: 256x192, 8 fixed (i guess) colors.. limitations: only 2 colors for each 8x8 block + each block can either be bright or dark (which limits the possible color-combinations a bit =)

and then there is some 8-bit-computer called ORIC.. don't know much about that one, except that it was mainly sold in france and the uk.. resolution is 240x200, 8 fixed colors; tricky limitations: only 2 colors in a *row* of 6 pixels + before you can change one of these 2 colors there has to be a row of 6 concecutive pixels with only one color

That's only one of the c64 modes. Also it is 4x8 tiles rather than 8x8, because the pixels are doublewidth.
Helm demonstrated another of the c64 modes in his gallery; 2 colors per 8x8 block, normal sized pixels. It's like Spectrum but with a better palette.

Amstrad CPC:
Color choice is always from a 27-color 3*3*3 RGB colorcube, ie.

   000000 00007f 0000ff
   007f00 007f7f 007fff
   00ff00 00ff7f 00ffff
   7f0000 7f007f 7f00ff
   7f7f00 7f7f7f 7f7fff
   7fff00 7fff7f 7fffff
   ff0000 ff007f ff00ff
   ff7f00 ff7f7f ff7fff
   ffff00 ffff7f ffffff

   mode 0: 160x200..192x256(tweakable) x 16 colors, double width pixels
   mode 1: 320x200..400x224(tweakable) x 4 colors, normal pixels
   mode 2: 640x200..?x?(tweakable) x 2 colors, doubleheight pixels

Amiga (non-AGA):
All sorts of resolutions and pixel sizes. mainly a palette restriction,
32 of 4096 colors can be used. (4096 colors == 16*16*16 RGB colorcube)
or, with HalfBrite mode, 32 of 4096, and a 'halfbrite' bit which can
halve the RGB values of the pixel. Effectively a restricted 64 colors.

absolutely.
