So I inquired as to what I should do about sub-par pieces I found in the gallery, and I was told by (I believe) an admin that I should leave a comment on the piece detailing what I thought was wrong with it, and then report the comment. Which I've done and which has worked in the past.
Did it again today, and I find that the piece is still in the gallery but my comment is now gone. So what's up? Is this a generally accepted way of bringing sub-par pieces to attention, or if I report my own comments should I expect them to just be deleted if the wrong person happens to deal with the report?
There was nothing wrong with the comment, so I have to assume that there was a miscommunication over why it was reported, and I tend to put a fair bit of effort into typing my comments, so I'd appreciate knowing that they're not just going to disappear in the future.

This may have been a mistake. Your comments are some of the best given so please continue to do so. Keep in mind that "sub-par" is relative.

Thanks for the response. pixelblink addressed this to me via PM and I've already talked to sedge about it, so hopefully this won't be an issue any longer.
I wouldn't presume to assume that my assessment of a piece is law, but I like to think I've got a pretty good idea of the expected gallery standards, and I generally stay away from reporting borderline pieces.

i think that was my fault for deleting it. generally when i see a comment reported, that means the user wants their comment deleted. it is better to just report the peice itself... or jsut do whatever pb/sedge told you to do :D
