Hi!

I decided to rewrite Pixy, a drawing program for Symbian/UIQ3 devices (SonyEricsson M600, P990, W950, ... and maybe some others soon). For easier development I made a PC version as well (both for linux and windows), you can download it here:

http://www.saxoft.com/get.php?page=pixy - http://www.saxoft.com/get.php?page=pixy

You can find the user guide and an animation with the progress of creating a teddy bear there.

ANy idea/opinion/criticc/etc is welcome ;-)

Update [2006-12-07]: version v0.11 released with a LOT of new functionalities. Just check out the manual to have a quick glance at it.

Gawd, for windows again. I have a mac, and the only pixel software i'm happy with is photoshop. I would use pixen if it actually worked (crashes instantly every time i click with the pencil tool -.-)

Notonly for windows, for linux as well ;-)

But anyway, I made the software especiialy for mobile phones. The PC versions exists only for easier development, and to demonstrate the program. (the program works in a fixed window of size 240x320)
However, if I could compile it for Mac OSX, I would be happy to do, but unfortunately I don't have access to any Mac computer. (The source code itself should be easily portable, since it's already working in linux/windows/symbian).
So, if you know a trustworthy programmer with a Mac, just let me know, I'll give him the source code.

Alright, but how much time does it take to port something like that to another platform?

For someone with experience with Mac OSX it could be done in 1day.
Maybe even less. The sourcecode itself is portable. I used ANSI, POSIX functions + the FLTK toolkit, which is ported already to Mac OSX. So it might be only a matter of a simple recompilation.

Looks pretty neat! I'm on a mac too, so if someone with the required programming skills would port that it would be really good :D
I'm using photoshop and pixen, but photoshop's really annoying for pixel work and pixen isn't updated any more (or so it seems..), plus it's buggy and uber heavy, possibly one the slowest programs on my computer.. including WoW :/
