Here is where I am...

as a huge vector fan and lover of all things illustrator, i am quite liking this.

one quick comment - her iris is really throwing her eye off for me...something about the size/angle.

looking forward to updates

What? I though rodbot was the sexiest bot on the net! ;P

Looks very nice, but the first red-tipped bit from the left looks like it's not at quite the right angle. [/nitpick]

This reminds me of that one queen borg from Star Treck TNG.
There seems to be some minor skewing/distortion in the head.

if you're doing vector art (or vector art lookalikes), why aren't you using vectors?

yeah i agree with P_O, you shouldn't be able to see the other lashes in profile.

also, maybe make the nose less up pointing?

thats cute. i wonder who did the original design.
it looks ravishingly sexy in vectors.
mind posting the original, so those of us who dont know can see to compare??

id suggest removing the second eyelash, the original must not have been properly thinking at the time. For the pupil, move it closer to the edge almost having no white space on the left side.
are you planning to add more colours and shades to the face. as a 2 shaded it looks rather bland, but a nice start. whatever 'reference' your using for the facial forms and features seems to be helping. :)

interesting with the green. Making the whole gadget green. looks rather interesting like that, adds more colour to the picture! all i envisioned was the outter hang over parts to still be grey, and the smaller thinner inner part to be the green emitting a glow onto the rest of the body, opposed to it being painted green. like led lights from under.
looks good though as a painted. almost gives a punk personality, with a somewhat mohawk-ish look.

ill comment more once its further along.
looking nice ens

ps:
android woman? female android?
for some odd reason, it struck me as an 'Android F'

ok, here is the original:

cleaned up a bit.  this version is shrunk and very low res for size purposes.  it was originally done by some savant of pixels and paper...  a shell of his former self, doomed to eat toe nail clippings and soured lemons.  very sad.

will remove eyelash, and fix pupil.  as for the shades, they are at the bare minimum at the moment.  i usually do the base of each item, add the minor details, then shade afterwards.  and yes, some cool ass dude provided me with some very good mastur...  er, i mean REFERENCE material.  :D

lol, yeah, i thought it could use some seatlle punk scene influence.  there will be a glow still, so no worries there.  some extra surprises as well, byt you will see that in due time :P

ah - you are using vector features in ps...

i have only ever done vectors in illustrator :)

Looks awesome, love the lips XD

You should have done this in illustrator however: photoshop isn't a vector program, it's bitmap-based. Illustrator is vector-based.

It's looking nice so far. It's interesting that you're taking something so detailed and making it to a vector.

Ensil don't blow up on me I just want to help, i feel that your tubes are skewed a bit. You can't have a constant radius in an ellipse, the ends there look like the overlap between two circles not really ellipses. I bet it's difficlut to get right, I don't know what type of tools you have available to you. The forshortened circles look like the cat eye shape formed by two overlapping circles of the same radius. I don't know how your program makes ellipses but you might try making a circle then forcing the height to be less than the width then rotating it.

I guess my main point is that a piece of circle can't be used to make a proper ellipse. An ellipse needs second radius where a circle has only one.

Maybe this will explain what I mean...

you shall see flaber, you shall see :P

quick update before i hit he sack...

still lot of the way to go...  one i finish the basics on the rest of the body like i did on the head, then i shall begin the fine details and tweaking.

p.s. 350 layers, mainly cause im a control freak so every element has its own layer

matches the original very good  before i saw the original i thought the head was too long, but when i saw the original i saw that your work just looks perfect, and the original version has a head going too far backwards

NPA and a rip of Flaber's art, you should be banned!!!

Indeed , this art by flaber is the best droid out there. Great take on it ens,. No crits on the technical side (remember PS has a 250 layer limit). The colors on the other hand are poor, at least at this stage.

Coming along nicely. :)

female robots

ahem..
android. meaning, 1/2 human 1/2 robot or a robot designed to look like a human. In any case, this would be the unfinished version with the wires and such still showing, but the frame base is there so they just need to layer the skin over the gadgets so it looks more humanistic. THUS she has boobs, so she could eventually fit into society better once fully developed.

yeah, but they're not as good as the real thing. *eyebrow wiggle*

thanks for that comment.
thats totally useful and relevant as to what is going on.
im glad you came out and shared that with us.

you asked why there were boobs so i explained.
now lets not sidetrack this too much for ens

I'm just kidding, for god's sake. It's called a joke. It's not as if I didn't understand your explanation. I did, I was just making a joke.. out of... oh I don't know.. fun.

I think ens is also capable of speaking of himself as well.

But at any rate I AM actually looking forward to an update.

Looking very cool so far! The original sketch was awesome, but there is something really appealing about vector art done well.

Good luck finishing it!
