Hey guys & girls

My team and i are entering a game similar to Metal Gear and Splinter Cell to the FuturePlay contest http://www.futureplay.org/games . I am looking for a few pixel artist (or people who can contribute) to join my team or help us out once in a while. At the moment i only ask people who are local to my city (toronto) and right now it is about 5 people plus a few guys who does things for us once in a blue moon. Our team includes programers, 1 artist (the only thing we have 1 of, which cause me to post here), writers and composers.

Basically the game will be an overhead top down scroller like the two MG for MSX2 and the GBC game. Some things we are adding is grabbing & tackling (which hasn't be done in a 2d MG), more ways to interact with the environment (we are checking if we have enough time to do this or if we can make it different enough and fun without) and objectives (Like the type in GoldenEye 007 for n64). There will be a lot of 007 or Splinter Cell like gadgets and we are likely not going to have a codec or some kind of transmitter.

One of the big things we are trying to do is implement a unique way of telling the story. It will not be linear at all. You will need to hear all of it to complete the game. A lot of it can be done without hearing another set of the story. And, somehow, if our writers can manage it, there will be a reason why we do everything (Can anyone tell me why we were in the missile silo in 007?). The fun part for them is taking our 'fun' or crazy objectives/missions and forcing them to make it make sense.

We are likely to have weekly or bi weekly builds to show the public (or only our team) how the progress is going so far. Every member will know if they are falling behind or will know you are slacking off. Well, slacking off is a bad word to use. Just don't say you will or can do something and not do it. Luckily so far no members are like that. But, now that we are inviting people from the internet...

Anyways, reply to this, or PM me if you like. You can also email me ToGamer44 yahoo.com

BTW, did i mention we have 5 months to do this :). Contest ends Aug 1st.

I'll reply to this thread when more information is availing. Or if people keep asking us for more info now. We have docs up with objectives, game elements, weapons etc.

PS: This game is going to run on a mac too (I have one, and i didn't have to change any code to get it working).
