Pick Pixen; it's specifically made for pixel art. The problem is that it crashes every two seconds though (from personal experience, might work for you).

use which ever one you want...  we can point you in a direction, only you know your preferences.  test a few out if you're not sure

Mine doesn't really crash. It just sometimes messes up when I merge layers.

Always be sure to save your work! And when you're merging layers, try to click the one before the last, then Merge Down, etc.

Maybe Pixen only works for Intel-based Macs?

(aaand... shouldn't this be in the Resources and Support Forum?)
