Alright.  The basics:

Me:  Bill Renner
Email:  voximperium@gmail.com
Game: http://www.voximperium.com/ - Vox Imperium
Game Status:  Alive and running!
The Job:  Making an animated Icon set for the Vox Imperium game pieces
Payment:  Yes.  I don't know what the job is worth, though.

Hey guys.  Last time I was here I had a good experience and DRR did some nice artwork for me.  Right now I'm looking for someone who is good at making small animations.. 'cause I need 20 or so.

Here are the details of the project:

Right now Vox is free to run for me.  I have server space and bandwidth donated by a very generous employer... however, this might not always be the case.  I have a method for people to pay me for Credits and a few extra privilages, but I need to make this more attractive if Vox is to have long-term viability.

One of the things I would like to do is to offer alternate Unit sets for people who donate.  I've got a few good ones now, but what I really need is one super-cool ultimate set.  This pretty much dictates some sort of animated gif.

Here is the current icon set:

20 icons, total.  One worker, 3 guys with sticks, 3 guys on horses, 3 guys with cannons, 3 ships, and 3 ships with guns.  1 spy (with notepad), 1 partisan (with torch), 1 bandit (with sword).  One pile of little transport boats.

There are currently two tilesets for this -- the "enemy guys" tileset and the "my guys" tileset.  The only difference is that the "enemy guys" tileset is silver, while the "my guys" tileset is tinted gold.  See the difference:

Now, icon specifications:

* icon must fit in a 40x40 tile
* icon must be a transparency-enabled animated gif so it can be overlaid on the tile it is on.
* icon must have space for a roman numeral Power Rating in the upper-right (I'll add this in afterwards, don't worry about it)
* icon must stand out from a wide variety of backgrounds (ie, the map)
* icon must have some way to be differenciated between friendly and enemy (gold v silver in my tileset  -- this is likely just a palette swap)

Okay, I'm not looking for something super in depth here, just simple 3-5 frame animations.  I think it'd be neat if this was a Viking theme, or a Mideval Evil Empire kind of deal.  This is going to be the most expensive icon set I offer, so its important that it look Scary and Worth It.

So yes.  I have no idea what this would cost.  Please send me interest and what you estimate it'll cost.

Thanks!

- Bill
