Well, getting right to the point, I am looking for a spriter. Doesn't have to be particularly good, but I'm sure you're better than me.

As in you have Photoshop perhaps and sprite skills.
Which I don't, I am a Paint noob.

Why am I looking for a spriter? Can't I do sprites with Paint just fine? I am starting a sprite webcomic, ala 8-bit theater style. It is called "The Brawl to Brawl". Sprites with (mostly) real bgs. I tried doing sprites on my own, they turned out terrible. I can just manage the basics. The biggest part will be the start, as I don't have sprite sheets for my own Characters. After that, it's smooth sailing. I don't have a schedule we need to stick to with the comics, and even then the only sprite stuff will be an edit here or there. You'll be a coopertive in the strip.

I pretty much have all the framework of my story done. I know how I'm going to handle it, and I've got side-stories, on-going jokes, and twists in my pocket. I also have the main character edited sprites. And whoever(s) steps up will be a part in finishing off the story, giving your two cents, whatever you want to call it. You will just as much an influential force in the comic as I am. Well maybe a notch below me... =P


Now, I'm sure you want to know why you would be interested, as in what the comic is about. *sees everyone leave after they read the next paragraph*

It is centered around the SuperSmashBrothers universe. Sonic and his three friends, Shadow, Tails, and Knuckles, are the main characters who are new to this world.
And of course, Robotnik is causing trouble.
Master Hand gets to have his twisted fun.
And there's also... *puts curtain over monitor to deflect air-born objects*
Fusion.

Now before you get your shorts in a bunch, YES I am aware there on tons on top of tons of Sonic sprite comics, crappy ones, and YES tons on tons of other videogame sprite comics that suck.

I have checked them out. I am aware.


All the old cast is in from the SSB games, along with new ones. There are lots of tales of each characters going on.

Also my E-mail, [[REMOVED]] If you have a lot of knowledge on the Sonic universe, great. If not, that's ok. This comic is centered around Smash, not Sonic's universe. I already have a few mock-strips and such made, I don't really see a point in posting them, but here is a little teaser I put together:

And although the characters are in cannon, Brawl is not out yet. That leaves me some room with the characters.

Also, My two goals for this comic:

Focus on the story, not the art.

Have a hidden joke in at least ever 3rd or so strip.

I do not plan it insert myself in the comic ever. Also, I do not plan on doing this comic for money, as it is a sprite comic, and not all my sprites. This is for fun! So whoever does want to help out, it's supposed to be fun!

sprite comics are rips.  they are artwork stolen from a hardworking artist by someone too damn lazy to make his own stuff.

sprite comics == theft == rippers.  none of which are even slightly tolerated here.  period.

get off your ass and make something for yourself.  there are thousands of idiotic sonic comics.  come up with something original.

if you think im being harsh, thats because that was my intention.  i will not have that crap here in any aspect whatsoever.

They're not rips if he get's an artist to draw the sprites for him, surely? There are many fan comics for SSB around, i guess it's just doing the same thing but with pixelled characters right? If he was ripping i don't think he'd need an artist.

I'm unlocking this just cus.. i don't think he's done anything wrong. Feel free to correct me Ens, lol.

in the example he posted, it had rips in it...

and "I do not plan on doing this comic for money, as it is a sprite comic, and not all my sprites." that is pretty much what drove me to lock it.  if he was planning on having someone make them, then they would be his.

My comic is not about sonic, it is about the SuperSmashBrothers series, and Sonic getting into it. Although that is only half of the story. The rest is another original theme I came up with, having to do with "master" objects. I do have two original sprites.

You don't like sprite comics, fine. I don't mind that, that's your opinion. I personally do not have the time nor the talent to draw SSB and Sonic characters myself by hand. And I do not have any plan to make a totally original comic with all characters invented by me.
What I do have is a "what if" fan comic, if you will. And it happens to be in sprite form.
 
Also, I have been in contact with people who made sprite versions of their own of SSB characters. The only thing you can consider a "rip" would be the 4 character sheets of Sonic, Knuckles, Shadow, and Tails, which are from Sonic Advanced 2, as that is the style I preffered, and that is the style my custom sprites will be as well.
 
As I am not making this for any profit, nor am I making any claim that I made said characters, you can hardly complain that I am making a fan comic. However I do respect your opinion, Ensellitis. Thank you for unlocking this topic, Larwick.

dude want Ensellitis meant to say is that we are a Pixel Artist comunitties all the people that works here makes their own stuff..., so everything is original
PJ: is recognized for been the biggest Pixel Art comunitty
So Is not acceptable that some one comes and says that wants to make an sprite comic, the sprotes comics (the  biggest parts) are made from riped sprites, riper= thiefs, and WE the PJ comunitty are not thiefs...

using a sprite sheet i a sprite rip.  that is how they get the sheet, the steal them...  i am not going to re-illiterate myself, so read my first post here.

ans since you admitted that you will in fact be using rips, this thread is locked.
