a tipical human arm connects to the rest of the body in the upper part of the torso, not in the middle of the chest.

OK, I changed his shoulders so it looks more like they exist, and I changed his waist a little. |

OK, I think his pauldron stands out more now, and I added a little width to the arm. Edit:
