Well i started this isometric house earlier, it first started as a hut from a tutorial i followed which i expanded on and turned it into a house which i was rather pleased with but i feel it needs more work so i bring it to you guys for help and inspiration
>> >> >> >>
okay so there is my house so far, pretty plain imo, the right hand wall definately plain i know i was thinking for that wall perhaps a balcony? but i also thought due my lack of knowledge and skills that would be rather hard
so if anyone would like to give me tips on how to do this or what to add next i would be grateful and get right on it
thanks for reading.
EDIT: tried to add ''texture'' as saint minor suggested :p

Welcome to the forum!
@all, I asked TinyDot to bring this here for WIPping.
As we were PMing here is the most basic of iso help I may offer you which may be of help.

I know this shows a robot but the idea is generally the same for anything iso. If you are using MSPaint then I really don't know how to do it. I always suggest that people new to iso pixels make the unit on its own, say the balcony you speak off. Then join it to your item. I could make an edit to show you if you really need it but my n00btorial there explains it all step by step in a simple way.
You have left some stray white pixels here and there (change to darker theme if you need to see them).
Notice your house is at #4 as it is.

See how easy that was :) Now take all that to #5. Start thinking of #6 while you're at it. The flagpole should move out away from the wall a pixel or two. The windows and doors can be indented in and out as you like. Also at this point consider the height of a person compared to the door. Then place them by the window and noticed is way too high for them. Take that person and move it around to see whats 'off' and fix those things. Some overhanging roof tiles over windows and doors will break the boxes a lot. Understand?

Should I show you with an edit? You'll have to forego any idea that's mine tho.

ah i understand what you mean about roof tiles over windows now! :p and might i add that would be one amazing house if it was coloured
thanks again
EDIT: i also see what you mean about the person and the scale but imo he might be a tad too tall, most humans arent the same size as their doors, more often smaller but i see what you mean, thanks

You may color it, elborate on it and make it your own.

You could add a brick pattern to the house to make it, well, more housy. You never see a house fully made out of plaster. Maybe some broken bits, like a hole in the wall or a smashed window?

woah woah woah one step at a time there Pixitis :p you know im not amazing so i'll keep it at a low for now, i realise it's not very ''housy'' at the moment but its a WIP so i will improve it over time of course

Brick pattern not needed.. it can be a non brick house too...
Ok in your new edit, you have added some details, a human.. and thats what jalonso did too.. he added details.. but thats not why he made the edit, he allways adds details but it was about the scale.. and now you have drawn a human, every floor should be around the size of the human (a bit larger offcourse) Take a look at jalonso's edit again, if you dont know what I mean.. is version is alot smaller

No i see what you mean his walls are smaller yes, i will work on this of course, i was only using my person at this time for scaling the windows and doors for the moment, i will work on the rest soon

It's coming along well. I'd like to see you add textures to the roof and possibly the walls as well. But definatly the roof..if it turns out bad you still have where your at now to fall back on.

Yes! Good! But i think only the garage door should have that texture. Maybe a brick pattern? Heaven knows!

Oh and 1 tip, try to remove all your black lines! Read this http://pixelfreak.com/en/tutorial3.html

thanks lollige, but where you removed the black line there is now a large gap so the whole pattern would have to move up a pixel lol. also you've added a lighter line down the corner i see, thanks :p
