Hello. I'm not new to this particular community as I've lurked for years back in the elder days of Pixelation (which I am surprised to discover again in existence). If by some chance you remember me, it would be for this and this

I'm not here for those. I'm one of those dirty little  so called Rom Hackers (if you're going to get technical, we are analogous to the half-life modding groups than anything else)

This is the link sprite in question

I think this attack turned out wonderfully for the most part, but a few things still bother me. Namely, it is very confusing to actually see what happens to his idle right hand (which should eventually be holding a shield), due to the way the sprite loops it almost looks as if his right hand suddenly becomes his left, which is pulling the sword out of the scabbard. The animation itself does a great job of hiding that fact.

The sprite is 15 colors, and his weapon and shield are intended to use a separate palette. You can't see the shades of yellow at all in this animation (see here:

for a decent sideview). For those of you who are wondering, he's supposed to be wearing a cape. Why would link ever wear a cape, you might ask? Good question. Let's just say this particular link has a deviant sense of fashion. After all, Hyrule gets chilly too, right?

Another particularly painful animation for me is the other running position, facing north:

(I apologize for the doubled size, I can't find the frames for this normal size and photoshop keeps bastardizing the sprite when I go to get the sprite demagnified... ). This one is particularly hideous and sloppy. And he's supposed to be holding his right arm as if he had a shield. That, and these are animations I'm picking back up after a few years of sitting on them without improvement.

EDIT: Trying to get the links not to be lame... Fixed it, kind of.

we have IRC too, you know =P

continuing on what I said earlier, I think shortening the ears a few pixels would do loads of good. Especially since they don't seem to reach near that high in any of the other views

Yes there is a style clash there. I need to update those older animations, but I'm holding off on that just yet. Maybe until after I re-do the facing north animation not to look like there is a cat scrambling around like crazy under the folds of his tunic.
