The name doesn't sound familiar. I've probably heard of them before, just don't remember. I've heard of GWAR, though. XD they're pretty cool.

They sound like absolute rubbish. Probably one of those bands that does nothing but complain while playing random chords. The lead singer probably is about 23 with black hair and moderate to server facial growth kept in an untidy fashion. I bet there is at least one song about self pity and maybe another one about a girl or society that hates them.

Music died after the early 80's.

I dont think that it died, there some music today that people who like 80's music might like, it just doesnt get as much publicity as hip-hop, rap, and alot of styles of music seen on tv and such. [Not saying that hip-hop and rap are completely terrible]
I hope some part of that made sense

This is thrash metal, your thinking of sh*t like Minor Threat and Black Flag (two great bands).

Anyways, they're all about partying and they remind me of sh*t like Exodus and Suicidal Tendancies.

Heres a few pictures, there really all seriously about drinking, smoking weed, and having fun:

And the cover of there new album, which is really awesome, it reminds me of the old Megadeth covers:

Anyone into metal, punk or thrash should really give them a listen, I bought there albums but heres a few songs you should really download:

Nailed Casket
Guity of being tight
The Thrashin' of the Christ
Bang Over

Also, GWAR is my favorite band of all time, and anyone who says they think there cool probably only know that there shows are a bloodfest and have never heard any of there music...

No offense, it's just hard to find anyone who actually knows GWAR for anything other than there concerts.

Thrash isn't for everyone. :P

I hate Minor Threat. >.< But I think P_O is talking about the pop-supposed punk crap most people are calling emo nowadays even though it doesn't sound that much like the real emo genre.

I don't admit to knowing Gwar at all. I don't like them much, tbh. I like more of the classic types of metal. Right now though I'm into Rammstein.

Oh, and Skull. I gots me some Roots Manuva. :D Have you heard of Hilltop Hoods or Seeed? You might like them.

I believe that stuff is called emo now because it's mostly associated with the "lifestyle" of emo than anything else now. It's too bad, but what was once considered music under the genre of emo is can no longer be considered that without causing confusion or turning someone off to what was old emo.

I like all kinds of music. As long it isn't crap. Genre elitists can shut the f**k up and keep their closed minded little lives. C:

And I don't think music died after the 1980s. Music publicity is just poisoning the minds of children into thinking that image is what music is about and, well... pretty much telling them that crap is actually not crap. You seriously can't tell me that isn't true. I work at Claire's for gods sake.

Anyhoo, I don't pay attention to music genres all that much, so thrash is like speaking a foreign language to me. 8) /durrr So, that's all I gotta say.

I think it's more of the sound of the music than anything. People relate emo music to whiny sounding vocals, which is a staple of the actual genre. And though bands like Green Day and My Chemical Romance aren't actually emo by genre, some of the more whinier, higher pitched sounding stuff they've been doing, as well as wardrobe, has attributed to them being pushed into an emo category.

I think what pisses me off most about the "emo" genre is the basis for it. That their music is emotional and with feeling moreso than any other genre. That annoys me. Because to me, a good 90% of music is about emotions of feelings that people have been having. But emo's trying to come off all deep by saying their music is emotional. ALL music is emotional IMO. Plus, I hate whiny vocals for the most part. :P

And yaaay, Skull's investigating. :D

Oh, yeah, of course a lot of it is based on its sound. It is music, after all. But I think the sound and the emo "lifestyle" have a lot to do with why "emo" is what it is today.

It sure as hell is annoying. But, the thing you have to keep in mind is that these "emotional" bands can only sing about these emotional subjects (usually about some girl or how the world is against them,) with vapid, straightforward lyrics that actually have very little poetry or imagination to them. Not to mention that if you put a bunch of "emo" songs together, and ask a normal person which songs are by which band... they probably wont even be able to name how many bands there are two choose from in the song line-up. Green Day at least has more interesting sounding music and lyrics, so I don't think they're at the point of bland "emo" yet, but My Chemical Romance... I've always thought they were annoying and boring, and thus, were always part of the "emo" category in my mind... even before people really started using the word. :B

Whiny vocals can bite my butt, seriously. And yet, I still like Radiohead, Placebo, and Green Day (somewhat.) Hm. >__>

I wouldn't say there's really an emo "lifestyle". Emo hasn't developed into a subculture really as of yet. So there's no real "lifestyle" to go with it. Unless by lifestyle you mean outlook.

Green Day's old stuff was good, but their new stuff is crap, IMO. It's like the completely redid their sound to fit in with the pop-punk whiny sounding stuff today.

I'm not sure about emo lyrics. I can't stand to listen to the songs long enough to hear what they're saying.

HAHA. "Outlook" is a better word for what I meant, so yeah. D8 How about... "stupid teenage subculture #586875030?"

I actually haven't been keeping up with them. All I do listen to is the generally older stuff, really. And I very sparingly listen to the radio while in my car. But, I'll take your word for it.

And, uh, yeah. Emo lyrics just might be worse than the whiny voices. They're pretty much all about the same exact stuff. Not a whole lot of expansive vocabulary going on, to say the least.

hehe, I'm no authority on emo. I don't listen to the radio much either. But in defense of listing the differences between the goth and emo (defending goth :P) I did some research on the emo subculture. Wasn't all that impressed, tbh.

Yeah well, what emo is now and was back in the 90's is totally different.

One of my favorite bands, FUGAZI, which formed after Minor Threat broke up with Ian Mckaye on vocals, were called emo. If any of these emo kids walking around the mall heard these guys they be clueless.

They're nothing like Minor threat though, much more mellow, melodic and poetic, really great music. They broke up in 03 though :(

I really personally have a huge dislike for Emo, it pisses me off because heres your average emo singer:

White
American
No job (band)

What the hell problems of yours are so goddamn bad that your sh*tting your pants on stage from cry-screaming so hard? Why dont you switch places with an american-indian or a black dude and see who has the bigger problems in the country.

Green days old sh*t was awesome, I love dookie, but then they wanted to hop on the political bandwagon and be all against america like cool-guy kids and it's really lame as sh*t, all of there anti-bush and anti-american lyrics make no sense, they just want to sound intelligent, but alas they fail.

Same with NOFX, they were great with stuff like Stickin in my Eye and Linoleum but I bought Wolves in Wolves clothing and it really sucks a fat one...

Punk these days is going to sh*t...

Well, that's what happens when pop meets punk. Let's not forget that CULTURALLY PUNK IS THE ANTITHESIS OF POP. HELLOOOOO.

But I won't stop of that soapbox.

Just listen to the old stuff. Still good.

Just thought I'd add, I saw Municipal Waste at Wacken sort of. They played before one of my favourite bands, Unheilig, in the party tent. My friend and I snaked our way to the front for Unheilig and we thought Municipal Waste had finished playing. We were front row center, right where the mosh pit is, and when they started playing an encore, I seriously thought I was going to sh*t my pants. XD I don't want to be in a thrash metal mosh pit. I know I'll seriously get my ass kicked. Luckily, we moved to the side before the mosh pit formed.

They weren't bad as thrash goes. It's not really my favourite genre of metal, but they were certainly enthusiastic live, which I always enjoy.

Yeah there all over europe right now, I'm quite sad about that... Mosh pits are all right until that one big, fat, disgusting 7 foot 3 f**ker gets in the middle then everyone kind of stays away from him and goes "Ehh I don't like moshing anyways..."

hahaa. Yeah. Especially if he's really sweaty and hairy. I usually don't mind hair or sweat, but there's something in the combination of hair, sweat, bigness, and fat that really makes it not so much fun. :/
