Hello there pixel artists!, I'm here because i need someone to make graphics for a vertical shooter I've been working on, BUT, you won't get "paid" for it, hold on, don't go back yet!! I posted in this forum a while back hoping to find someone skilled with interest in freeware developement, but no one replied. And I've spent most of the time searching for a interested pixel artist, but to no avail. I've now realized that if i involve money people might get interested, and when i thought about it it was a great idea! if i involve money i might get hold of an awesome pixel artist, and then i won't have to spend 2/3 of my time one trying to make pixel art and work on the game instead, the game will be taken to the next level with >good< pixel art and after all, making a good game was my initial intent, even if it means it won't be freeware, I'm also short on money ><.
Anyway, here's the plan:
1: Make a good game
2: Sell the game(this is why you won't get paid, i don't have money :(. which is why we will sell it, and that's why making good pixel art is in you interest and it won't end up looking as one of those depressing made-in-a-week shooters you find all over the internet, the sales will be split equally between the team member(50/50 33.3/33.3/33.3).
3: Profit
The game is made with C++ and the Allegro library for software drawing and time handling and input devices. More specs on request, too much to write down here. As I've only worked on the engine much is left unclear, such as the story. I've had two ideas which are pretty similar: The destruction of mankind where you play the role of an alien in the leading role of a new sadistic intergalactic tv-show... and the destruction of mankind too defend the galaxy from the evil humans..
But like i said, nothing is decided so if you want too work on the story with me then sure.
About you:
You are a good pixel artist capable of producing sweet pixel art very fast, you love games and you have a lot of spare time, and you don't spend your time doing nothing instead of making pixel art.
