Hi all,
I'm a recent MSc graduate who is looking to put together a portfolio of home made software for the purpose of getting a job in software development. I'm working on a few different projects in various languages and platforms to get a fairly varied portfolio together... One of the things I'm working on is a mobile phone game using Java J2ME.
The game is designed to be a clone of one of my favourite puzzle games that it seems most people have forgotten about: Baku Baku Animal on the Sega Saturn.
The game involves various animals and various foods falling from the sky, you line up a load of food, and then drop the animal that eats that particular food on top to get rid of all those blocks. A couple of videos of the game can be found on Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVt0ErFckCo
Version 1.0 of the game is now almost complete, though I've only got photo placeholders for the graphics from quick flickr searches... I need to replace them with original graphics.
The main things that I need are graphics for the blocks, specifically, 25x25px pictures of the following:
Dog
Monkey
Panda
Rabbit
Bamboo
Banana
Bone
Carrot
and a Coin
Ideally, I could also do with some sort of background around 320x240px, and maybe even a logo (though that's less important!) The current name for the game is "Mobaku", as in "Mobile Baku".
I don't particularly want a representation of the graphics from the original game, I'd much rather the artist applied their own style/interpretation to the work. As long at the graphics are clean and easily recognised on a mobile phone screen, I'd be very happy!
Unfortunately I can't offer any money for the graphics, but you'll have my undying gratitute, and you'll be fully credited in the game and on the website I make to hold my portfolio. The game and the source will be released for free for everyone to access.
If anyone fancies the challenge, please let me know. I realise that it's a big ask, but I thought someone might be up for it
Cheers!
