I'm very new at pixel art but I'm enjoying it immensely. I've been working on this fire breathing snowman and I'm relatively happy with it, but I feel like it's lacking. I am focusing on keeping my palette as small as possible (currently 11 colors). Any suggestions about where to go from here to improve this piece? Thanks  |

The face does'nt look right.
Fix the eyes.

| I think it's the mouth and eyebrows more, but other then that it owns. Maybe getting rid of that orange pixel in the corner that makes the bottom of his mouth flat will help. |

The eyes and eyebrows are part of the style I was going for and the straight line on the bottom of the mouth suggest a nasty grimace. I played with both, but I think they look best the way they are. However, due to your suggestions I lightened up the eyes and eyebrow which dampened the contrast and really helped things look better. Since there were no more suggestions, after pushing a few more pixels around I called it done. Thanks again for your suggestions.  |
