Hello everybody, I've been pixeling for about half a year for eral, not messing around. I'm pretty good at line art and that kind of stuff, but I need some help with shading(color choosing) and some different kinds of dithering.

For shading I need some help with some low saturation colors that still look nice. Is there any specific tutorial that makes it easier to do?

As for dithering, I usually do a checkerboard style, occasionally just random dots, but I'm willing to learn some different kidns to give my pixels more texture.

I'm hopeful that I can learn the kinds where people just add random splats and blobs of certain colors in certain ways to blend the picture nicely yet give a nice texture. I'd also like another way just to dither in general, the different patterns that work well.

Thanks for reading

There seems to be no source written out as you hope. Experiment, view others galleries and don't fear making mistakes.
As for color choices, this is too difficult and personal to describe. If you really find yourself at a loss look at art in general or others pixels and learn about color theories through experimentation since even the finest art schools when it comes down to it can't pin this down.
It sucks...yet doesn't.
