This piece is sort of acting like a playground for future projects for me. I am just starting out and could use some help from the seasoned pros. The content is not really anything awesome. I am more looking for comments and crits on the technique, color, and geometry.
crits..comments plz

If you're gonna go black outline, everything gets black outlines. The bushes don't quite seem to be pixelart. (reducing pixels is a no-no) The scale of the lampost is way too much for the character. Your colors are going well in hues and saturation. Try to keep them always in range regardless of color. Keep lighting in mind when you color the lampost has 3 diffrerent lightsources.
On the plus side the character is really cute.

Hey thanks man..The character in the scene is supposed to be a child so the adults, which will be coming soon, will be larger. With that said Do you think the size of the kid is still too smal compared to the lamp post?

Look at it. The base is just about as big as the kid is. The planter is to his waist but so is the sidewalk. Scale (and lighting) can be critical in making things right for the viewer.
