Hello everyone,

I was wondering about something.

I'm currently tying to develop an isometric game.

I browsed on the net for a long (very long) time and all I could find (which was free) was:

http://www.inet2inet.com/InetSoftware/World-Creator/WorldCreator-info.asp - http://www.inet2inet.com/InetSoftware/World-Creator/WorldCreator-info.asp

The software is called World Creator 1.5. It's completely free but seems impossible to download.

I was wondering if any of you has ever acquired this software and would be willing to put it online for other people to enjoy.

My second question is: are you aware of any other isometric engines to create isometric maps?

What would you recommend?

I'm trynig to do everything in photoshop but it really is inconvenient and taking a lot of time.

Thank you for your answers.

It downloaded and started to install fine for me; what specifically prevents you from doing the same? Is the file corrupted once you D/L or what? I could mirror temporarily it if that would help the problem.

However if you are making a game I suggest creating maps in a tool you create yourself; it will be perfectly suited to your purpose and you'll be able to add any feature you could possibly need.

Monkey 'o Doom

I live in China, which might explain why I'm having a hard time downloading the file(s).

Yes a mirror would be appreciated.

That's actually a really neat suggestion but all I can say is: ''I wish!''

I'm a humble pixel art beginner, not a programmer (not by a long shot).

I actually also liked the following tool:
http://www.theoworlds.com/games/sdk/1.1/editor.html -

I think it's just really great. Just check out the link, you can try it out online. It's very expensive however... which makes it impossible for me to purchase....

UPDATE:

Hmm... actually this won't do.

I'm looking for a software like http://www.dundjinni.com/ - Dundjinni to create my maps.

Here's an example of what DJ can do:

http://www.dundjinni.com/forums/uploads/lonefox/9EB_gatehouse2.jpg - Click here

DJ is simple to use. Most importantly, adding your own custom art is very easy.

Is there such a thing as this kind of software out there, only for isometric?

Read the entire thread. He doesn't want to use a program like this to make isometric pixel art, but to make maps for his game.
