Even if you've never been a fan of the UT series, it's definitely worth the http://www.fileplanet.com/181421/download/Unreal-Tournament-3-Beta-Demo - free beta download . I've played all of the Unreals, and this one blows all of the other ones off the map. It's intense, sound effects are 'unreal', 3D models and landscapes are beautiful, vehicles are perfect, you get a free hoverboard and it's all-in-all a fantastic game. Download it while people aren't pros yet!

I saw.
I suppose he is mildly correct. Shoot em' up is used more for shmups now but in its hay day (mid 90's) it could mean anything that involved a projectile.
Technically the term is reserved for more 2D games made in the 80's 90's gap. Shmup is more precise language for scrolling shooters and if you want to get technical, FPS is the genre that Unreal is in. ------------- http://www.shmup-dev.com/forum/">

My bad :) I play both shooters and shmups but yeah, didn't know the terms mattered much. You shoot things up in UT, right?!
