How about more symmetry? Some of his legs looks shorter than the other. And his body looks like it was stepped on.

In this species the legs aren't the same size anyway, how can I make the abdomen look more bulbous?

Even so, the legs still look a little odd.

Use higher contrast and shading to make the body more "bolbous". Try to match the pattern ont the spider, also. Yours looks sketchy.

I didn't use this pic as a reference, each spider has it's slightly unique alteration of pattern.  I'll try that to make it appear more bulbous... yes, that is a word, it doesn't need quotation marks.  Thanks.
