I recently found an interest in pixel art after I found out how all the computer and game graphics are actually made. So I did a little research, and came up with Tsugumo's tutorials, and a couple pixel art communities.
After lurking around and reading the tutorials, I think I'm ready to tackle my first piece. The problem is that I really don't have any clue as to where to start. I don't want to try to start out with something far too advanced and hard for me to do, and get discouraged, and lose interest in pixeling all together.
So a couple questions I have are: What was your first piece? Where would be a good place to start?

Do you have a grounding in basic art, as far as shading and drawing by hand goes? Establishing a foundation like that is extremely important. ------------- http://pixelmonkey.ensellitis.com">

I would not call myself an expert by any means, but I do have a basic understanding of art, more than the average person might have. ------------- Got that rainbow feel. My first piece was ages ago. It's been lost to the digital gods of time.  Try an old challenge, or a collab. Doing some lineart is also a good start. Check the topic "The lines den". And best of luck with everything.  -------------  "pwnage comes with patience, practice and planning." ~ Jalonso
