Hi All,
I'm a programmer with some spare time at the moment and am looking to team up with a pixel artist... so if you have a game that you would like to make, please let me know and i'll help out :-)

hi, and welcome to PJ. we have a special forum section dedicated for this, since rather than a collab itself, is more like an offer for an unpaid work. i recommend you to read the guidelines of Job Posting terms and then post all the information needed.

Well I thought that but as i'm not offering anything specific apart from help and I saw a few other collaboration projects in here I thought here would be better.

Its a tough call where to place this it is an offer but not really a job :/
So Steve, why not post a link to something you have worked on or programmed so that you get the best match possible.

All sorts really, arcade games, platformers, board games, card games, RPGs... i've worked on a lot of stuff but most of my recent stuff can be found here http://www.steveharris.info/downloads.php - http://www.steveharris.info/downloads.php and current projects here http://www.steveharris.info/projects.php - http://www.steveharris.info/projects.php , http://www.turningthetide.info - http://www.turningthetide.info & http://www.aellamassemailer.com - http://www.aellamassemailer.com .
Reason that i'm posting is because the current pixel artist I work with won't be having any more spare time for quite a while and I do rely on him for gfx quite often. So my plan is to make a few freeware games with a few decent artists and get to know people

Well it doesn't have to be a full game... arcade games use very little sprites so it's not as big a task as you may think

well just stick around, I'm sure soon enough someone will be bored enough and want to make a game, don't get discouraged.
maybe in the meantime, you could do some pixel art yourself ;)

That's my plan! I need to finish my two shareware projects and then i've set time aside to learn flash and try my hand at pixel art... so you can expect me popping in here more often
Perhaps Lollige & Metaru could work together with me? How does an online Space version of Battleships sound?

Space is meta's favourite.. Whats battleships? Ahh its probebly one of
those standard shooters.. I have not played many of them, but those I

It's a classic board game from the 30's... you can play a flash version here: http://www.miniclip.com/games/battleships/en/ - http://www.miniclip.com/games/battleships/en/ and a bit of info is here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battleship_game - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battleship_game
This would be a bit of a twist on the original version replacing an ocean sea battle with a space battle. You could have plasma bombs, neutron bombs etc i'm sure we could come up with lots of great improvements.

However I think I got it.. I was thinking of a shooter, like those 1942 games and such.. but this could be cool too.. however how does a space ships from 5 squares long look like??
EDIT: I got cencored too :o

That would be the tricky part I presume! You could make the ships whatever shape you want as long as it fits in to (for example) the 5 squares and a hit on a square the ship is in results in a hit. For instance:-

I'm sure that Soulys project needs a programmer.
