Personally you could pull off a one-pixel glow in any color but white... but it's your choice. Anyways, the rest looks good, but it might look better transparent. |

| Now that Platnium took away the glow, I can see you need to anti-alias around the lines, or at least make them smoother, because they're quite rough without the glow. |

Have you played that game "The Dig" from LucasArts? This reminds me of the alien spirits in that game. Neat concept. Looking forward to seeing some updated glow.

I believe what you're attempting to do there is antialiasing, also known as AA. Unfortunately you've executed it poorly. Nothing to be ashamed of, as AA is tricky. It may be helpful to check out some tutorials.
The first step is cleaning up your lines: they've got jaggies all over the place. Once you've cleaned them up the best you can, then you can antialias. I've done a bit to give you an idea of how it might look: 
It's not great AA as I'm just learning to do it properly myself, but hopefully it helps a little. Good luck! Let me know if any of this is unclear. ------------- |

Your AA still leaves a considerable bit to be desired. Maybe you should try antialiasing a black ball onto a white BG as a quick practice, and once (you perfect that/we help you perfect that) you can move back onto this piece? ------------- http://pixelmonkey.ensellitis.com">
