when you use microsoft gif animator, is it better to have each frame saved as an individual GIF first? I tried copy+pasteing the frames from paint but the colors kept getting all distorted. How should I be doing this?

It doesn't look like many people use that product.  I'll have to try it out sometime.

well, doesn't this apply to any gif animator? and if not, what program can I use to create palletes (.pl or something)?

You should probably make them gifs first. that way, they all get optimized the same way.

edit: and if you're using paint, you probably shouldn't save as a gif there. save as .bmp then go to iaza.com and use it to change the filetype...

though I'd advise getting psp or ps, since it's much easier to do this kind of thing there.
